The official website of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia continues the project, “Road to Rio”, before the start of the 31st Rio Summer Olympic Games where it will tell about the athletes representing Armenia at the Olympics, and their photos made by photographer Hakob Berberyan specially for the “Road to Rio” project.
The next hero of our project is weightlifter, European reigning champion Andranik Karapetyan. Andranik was born in 1995. He started weightlifting at the age of 12. He studies at the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture. Karapetyan has a calmness characteristic of him which becomes more expressive during tournaments.
The European champion is one of the main hopes of the Armenian Olympic team to conquer a medal at the Olympic Games. He is perfectly conscious that for achieving great sporting success besides being talented one needs to work devotedly.
