Samboist Arsen Ghazaryan at 74 kg won the second medal of Armenia at the European Games ongoing in Minsk.
In the fight for a bronze medal the Armenian samboist had a victory 10:2 over Greece’s Georgios Markarian.
After the bout the Armenian athlete told the ANOC press service about the victory.
“I have conceded to this opponent once because of referees’ partiality. This time I was disposed to steal the victory at any cost. I won with an obvious advantage. I had been preparing for this tournament for a year. To tell the truth I came here after gold but I failed the first part of the bout with the Russian athlete and later wasn’t able to bring back the lost. I’m pleased with my result, I have made a progress winning the one whom I lost, “Arsen Ghazaryan said.
Artur Hovhannisyan at 52 kg and Hovhannes Bachkov at 63 kg also started their performances with victories.
Karapet Manvelyan deserved a bronze medal.
