Tigran Kirakosyan became a sambo European champion of 2019.
In the sports sambo final of the European Sambo Championships underway in Gijon, Spain, Kirakosyan (52 kg) won Russian Yevgeni Yeryomin, 2:1.
Two of seven Armenian representatives who competed on the first day succeeded too; Rafik Manukyan (68 kg, sports sambo) and Poghos Badalyan (57 kg, combat sambo) won bronze medals.
The Armenia sambo team has left for the championships with 19 athletes.
