European Olympic Committee President, Patrick Hickey, said that during the past 25 years, the Committee has demonstrated his organizational skills and implemented inspiring initiatives in the sport development.
“I am happy to be here with you this evening and to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Armenia's National Olympic Committee. I think the creation of professional jobs for having progressive organization is the best way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Olympic Movement. But the success of the center depends not only on designed building, but the quality and dedication of the people working in it. President Tsarukyan, don’t worry, your staff is professional and has enough work ethic to compete with any organization of the Olympic movement. For a long time sport has been a way of independence for individuals in society and for countries in the international community. The sport is a way of being independent in Armenia. The best example of it is the National Olympic Committee of Armenia. 25 years ago you became independent and 25 years ago you created the independent National Olympic Committee, which was recognized by the IOC in 3 years. The sport is considered the way of recognizing Armenia. Sports traditions continue to this day, proving your results in the Olympic Games. In 2008 in Beijing, in 2012 in London you proved your love for the sport. The Armenian athletes have a new platform to express their love for sport at European Games. It is very pleasant and easy to work and negotiate with Mr. Gagik Tsarukyan. He is always on the truth’s side and never puts his interests above when making decision. Such people are always respected in the international arena and the Olympic family. During the past 25 years, the NOC of Armenia has become a worthy member of the EOC. During your career you have shown organizational skills and inspiring initiatives for sport development. The EOC's mission is to help you continue this way. I am waiting with impatience the next 25 years of your activity”, said EOC President, Patrick Hickey.
