Armenian Youth Weightlifting Championships drew to a close

The 2016 Youth Weightlifting Championships drew to a close at the Yerevan State Sports College of Olympic Reserve.

In the last day of the competition weightlifters of heavyweight class competed for a champion title. Samvel Gasparyan (333kg in the double-event) became a champion at 94kg. The second and third places were taken by Harutyun Yengibaryan (316kg in the double-event) and Arsen Martirosyan (double- event - 320kg). At 105kg Hovhannes Avdalyan (double-event – 336kg) was declared Armenia’s champion. Sargis Kirakosyan became a silver medalist scoring 305kg in the double-event and Narek Matevosyan – a bronze medalist with the double-event of 295kg. Varazdat Lalayan (double-event – 335kg) captured gold at +105kg. He was followed by Slavik Janoyan (331kg in the double-event) and Simavon Mkrtchyan (double-event – 2098kg)
On the eve Levon Manukyan at 69kg, Zhorzh Yeghikyan at 77kg and Manuk Mkrtchyan at 85kg had become champions.
On April 30 the youth team will spend a training camp in Tsakhkadzor before the World Championship.
