Armenian wrestlers won’t take part in the U23 European Championship

The Armenian Wrestling Federation considers the participation of Armenian teams in the U23 European Championship inexpedient.

Armenian Greco-Roman wrestling team’s coach Levon Julfalakyan and Armenian youth team’s head coach Avetik Vardanyan confirmed the information in a conversation with the ANOC press service.
In 2015 at the U23 European Championship Armenian freestyle wrestlers Valodya Frangulyan (61kg) became a champion and Grigor Grigoryan (74kg) – a silver medalist. From the Greco-Roman wrestling team Karapet Chalyan became a bronze medalist of 75kg weight class and Sargis Kocharyan (80kg) a silver medalist.
The 2016 U23 European Championship will be held from March 29 to April 4 in Bulgaria.
