European championship: Wrestler Valodya Frangulyan will fight for bronze

The European Championship continues in Riga, Latvia.

On March 10 wrestlers Valodya Franglyan (61kg) and Grigor Grigoryan (74kg) came out.

In the first fight Frangulyan won 10:0 Moldova’s Mihay Yesanu. In the 1/8 finals the Armenian wrestler was defeated 0:5 by world champion Georgia’s Vladimer Khinchegashvili who reached the final letting Frangulyan to fight for bronze. In the comforting fight the Armenian wrestler’s opponent was Macedonia’s Jason Rejalari whom Frangulyan defeated 17:8. For grabbing the bronze medal Frangulyan will have to win Azerbaijan’s Haji Aliev.

Grigor Grigoryan (74kg) won 7:4 Moldova’s Evgeni Nedealko in the first bout. In the next round Grigoryan lost 1:12 to Turkey’s Soner Demirtas who qualified for the final, therefore Grigoryan got a chance to continue the struggle. In the comforting fight the Armenian wrestler lost 0:10 to Russia’s Zaur Makiev.
