The International Olympic Committee after long discussions with the United World Wrestling has approved the separation of the strongest wrestlers in different subgroups at the Rio Olympic Games.
The finalists of the 2015 World Championship in Las Vegas will included in various subgroups at the Rio Olympics but the separation refers to the wrestlers not to the countries they represent.
That means that if a world finalist for some reason doesn’t participate in the Rio Olympics, the separation will not refer to a wrestler replacing him.
This issue has been discussed since 2013.
The Rio Olympics will be held from August 5 to 21.
