Wrestler Maksim Manukyan grabs a silver medal at the international tournament “Dan Kolov-Nikola Petrov”

The 54th international wrestling tournament “Dan Kolov-Nikola Petrov” is over in Sofia, Bulgaria. 

In the last day of competition, Maksim Manukyan and Artur Shahinyan (85kg) came out.
Artur Shahinyan won 8:0 Algeria’s Sidazara Bachir in the first bout. In the quarter-finals the Armenian wrestler defeated Egypt’s Mohamed Ahmed. In the semifinals, Artur Shahinyan’s opponent was Armenia’s another representative Maksim Manukyan to whom Shahinyan lost 0:3. In the fight for the bronze medal, the Armenian wrestler won 2:2 his Bulgarian rival.
In the 1/8 finals, Maksim Manukyan defeated Bulgaria’s Hristo Marinov, the Armenian wrestler kept winning also in the quarter-finals with a score of 8:0, this time Iran’s Soheli Raesi. In the semifinals, Manukyan gained advantage (3:0) over Artur Shahinyan and reached the finals where lost 0:2 to a Bulgarian wrestler.
At the 54th international tournament “Dan Kolov-Nikola Petrov” , where Armenia was represented by Narek Khachatryan, Gevorg Gharibyan (59kg), Mihran Harutyunyan (71kg), Karapet Chalyan (75kg), Maksim Manukyan, Artur Shahinyan (85kg), Artur Aleksanyan (98kg) and Edgar Khachatryan (130kg), our wrestlers captured 3 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals.
