Grand Chess Tour: Levon Aronian loses to Magnus Carlsen and places 4th

Levon Aronian, the leading player of the Armenia chess team, lost to world champion Magnus Carlsen in the game for the third place of the Grand Chess Tour last round ended in London.
Of two classic matches the Norwegian grandmaster won the first one, and the second match was a draw.
In two matches of rapid chess held on 8 December the GMs had one win each. Then 4 matches of blitz chess were held where Aronian had one win, one loss and draws.
Ding Liren became the winner of the Grand Chess Tour defeating French Maxime Vachier –Lagrave in the final. The prize fund of the tournament is $350.000.
Levon Aronian will get $161.250 for the 4th place of the Grand Chess Tour.
