Armenian representative Artur Hovhannisyan (52 kg) has reached the quarterfinal of the World Boxing Championship underway in Yekaterinburg, Russia.
In the 1/8 final Hovhannisyan defeated 5:0 Azerbaijani Masud Yusifzada and qualified for the quarterfinal.
Hovhannes Bachkov at 63 kg has also qualified for the quarterfinal. He won Columbia’s representative.
Of 8 boxers of the Armenia team left for the Championship the struggle is still continued by Arman Darchinyan (75 kg), Henrikh Sargsyan (91 kg) and super heavyweight Gurgen Hovhannisyan.
The 32nd Summer Olympic Games will be held from July 24 to August 9, 2020.
