The Armenia boxing youth team has ended performing without medals at the Youth European Boxing Championship held in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The best results were registered by Rudolf Garboyan at 49 kg and Artur Ghazaryan at 52 kg who reached the quarterfinals and lost there. In case of qualifying for the semifinals the Armenian representatives would secure at least a bronze medal.
At the European Championship eight more boxers performed in the Armenia boxing youth team lineup: Gayane Ter-Barseghyan (48 kg), Arsine Tsaturyan (51 kg), Artur Shakhpazyan (56 kg), Rafael Hakobyan (60 kg), Gurgen Kakoyan (64 kg), Arsen Grigoryan (69 kg), Rafael Hovhannisyan (75 kg) and super heavyweight Sargis Poghosyan.
On November 22 Vahe Badalyan (52kg), Garnik Papikyan (64kg) and Spartak Tamaryan (60kg) will try their luck
In 2014 Sargis Stepanyan lost his two legs and the right arm.
They came back home from the European Athletics Championship in Bucharest with seven medals
The sport is considered the way of recognizing Armenia
The tournament will be held in Kiev on February 12-14
