Grenke Сhess Сlassic: Levon Aronyan loses to Magnus Carlsen

In round 7 of the Grenke Chess Classic underway in Germany leading player of the Armenia chess team Levon Aronyan lost with black pieces to world current champion Magnus Carlsen (Norway). The GM admitted defeat on the 38th move.

Viswanathan Anand (India) lost to Georg Meier (Germany) and Fabiano Caruana (USA) was stronger than Arkadij Naidich (Azerbaijan). Maxime Vachiev-Lagrave (France) vs Francisco Vallejo (Spain) and Vincent Keymer (Germany) vs Peter Svidler (Russia) games had no winner.
After round 7 Levon Aronyan has 3, 5 points and places 5-7. The leader of the tournament, Magnus Carlsen, has gained 5,5 points and second place runner Fabiano Caruana has 4,5 points. In the previous 6 games the Armenian GM had tied the games with Arkadij Naidich, Georg Meier, Francisco Vallejo, Maxime Vachiev-Lagrave and Vincent Keymer, as well as had won Peter Svidler.
On April 28 Aronyan will play the penultimate, 8th round, with white pieces against world former champion Viswanathan Anand.
