Merited cycling coach, Albert Soloyan passed away

The famous cycling coach and teacher, merited coach of the Republic of Armenia, Albert Suren Soloyаn passed away. Albert Soloyan was born in 1949 in Kapan city of Syunik region. In 1967 he left the secondary school N28. In the same year he entered the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and graduated from it in 1971. After serving in the Soviet Army he began working at the volunteer sports organization <Work reserves>. In 1975 he was appointed the national team’s head coach working till 1997. The same year he was invited to the Islamic Republic of Iran as the national team’s head coach. From 2000 to 2002 he headed the Malaysian team; in 2003-2005 he was invited to Honk Kong to lead its national team. From 2005-2006 he was the head coach of the Chinese national team. In 2007 he returned to work in Armenia as the head coach and in May 2008 was assigned a director of specialized children and youth cycling school of Olympic reserve. In 2014-2015 was the head coach of Georgia’s national cycling team. He was married and had two children. The National Olympic Committee of Armenia conveys its deepest sympathy and condolences to the family and friends of Albert Soloyan.
