Armenia's weightlifting team member, participant of the Rio Olympic Games Sona Poghosyan has placed third in the 75kg weight class, Group B.

In the women's Group B Poghosyan snatched 92kg, then 97kg but failed to hold overhead 100kg. In the clean and jerk the Armenian weightlifter lifted 115kg, then 122kg and 126kg. With a total of 223kg she placed third.

The women's Group A competition will start a little later.
