Recently some rumors were circulating in the Armenian media according to which 2010 world weightlifting champion, three-time European champion, Beijing Olympics bronze medalist Tigran Martirosyan and European ruling champion, London Olympics bronze medalist, weightlifter Hripsime Khurshudyan were disqualified because of using prohibited stimulants and won't take part in the Rio Olympics.

In response to the above-mentioned publications, the secretary general of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia, Hrachya Rostomyan, made a statement.
''The National Olympic Committee of Armenia keeps in close contact with international anti-doping agencies. We follow the development of anti-doping procedures closely. This refers to hundreds of athletes from various countries, including some of our athletes. Up to this moment we have no official statement or decision. We will give our response only after the official announcement of the relevant international organizations. Before that all our athletes, according to the approved schedule, are preparing for the 31st Summer Olympic Games,'' ANOC Secretary General Hrachya Rostomyan stated.
