The International Weightlifting Fajr Cup has kicked off in Tehran, Iran.

The tournament was attended by two members of the Armenian weightlifting team – Aghasi Aghasyan and Arakel Mirzoyan. In the snatch Aghasyan lifted 156kg and in the clean and jerk held overhead 196kg. With a total result of 352kg Aghasyan placed 6th.
As for Arakel Mirzoyan, he competed in group A snatching 154kg and pushing 188kg. Mirzoyan came in 9th scoring 342kg in total.
Iran’s Kianoush Rostami became Fajr Cup winner at 85kg with a total result of 395kg.
