The European Sambo Championship drew to a close in Kazan, Russia where Armenia’s Grigor Mkhitaryan became European champion.
In the finals Mkhitaryan defeated 0-1 Russia’s Artush Arsyan. Another Armenian samboist Vachik Vardanyan reached the finals, too but conceded to Russian Ruslan Gasakhanov and grabbed silver.
The European Sambo Championship had brought together almost 400 athletes from 30 countries of the world.

Argentina leads the list, Belgium places second and Chile – third
In solo competition the winner’s title deserved Mary Martoyan
Aleksanyan was awarded by the president of the Eastern European anti-doping organization
Armenia takes part in the European Judo Cup with 15 judokas
On April 12 Vanik Avetisyan and Rostam Karapetyan will also fight for medals
At the European Youth Boxing Championship held from November 19 to 29 in the Polish city Kolobrzek
