Armenian Track Cycling Championship kicks off

The Armenian Track Cycling Championship kicked off from individual pursuit.

On the first day of the competition adults and youth competed in the 25m individual pursuit and juniors – in 25m. Among adults the best 3 cyclists were named Mher Mkrtchyan (1st place), Davit Mkrtchyan (2nd place) and Edgar Sargsyan (3rd place). Robert Khachatryan became the champion among young cyclists. Pavel Stepanyan and Nikolay Gasparyan placed second and third, respectively.

“After this championship the staffs of different age groups will be decided. Then the juniors will join in the “Tour Adjara” which is held in Georgia and has an international status”, team’s head coach Armen Gyozalyan said to ANOC press service.

The 110km team pursuit will be held on May 13, the juniors’ team pursuit will take place on May 14 and on May 15, the last day of the competition, the cyclists will compete in the criterium event.
