FIS SES Cross-Country Cup to be held in Armenia for the first time

On the initiative of the Armenian Ski Federation and SES Ski Nations LTD the first FIS SES Cross-Country Cup will be held in Armenia for the first time.

“The first FIS SES Cross-Country Cup will be held in Armenia. 50 representatives from 5 countries such as Iran, Romania, Serbia, Latvia and Armenia will participate in the contest which is, by the way, qualifying”, Armenian Ski Federation Secretary General, Gagik Sargsyan said to reporters.
The Ski Development Manager of the Norweigian Ski Federation, Brit Baldishol also shared his impressions, “I am happy for being in Armenia and especially glad that the Armenian Ski Federation offered to participate in the competition organized here. I consider important the FIS SES Cross-Country Cup as it will give new opportunities to skiers. Armenia has the most important prerequisite which is snow. Your country has all the conditions given from nature. All you have to do is to work hard. I also saw many talented skiers among Armenian athletes’’, Baldishol stressed.
The FIS SES Cross-Country Cup will be held in Tsakhkadzor from January 19 to 21. On January 17 the World Snow Day will be celebrated in Tsakhkadzor, too.
