ANOC extraordinary General Assembly session takes place

Today an ANOC extraordinary General Assembly session took place at Olympavan. There were 5 issues on the agenda.
The first point refereeing to the European Games in Minsk was reported by Adviser to the president of the NOC of Armenia Armen Grigoryan. The latter summed up the done works and the results registered by our athletes especially emphasizing the importance of winning dozen medals (11 medals – 5 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals) at such a major tournament.

The second point of the agenda was about Armenian athletes’ preparation for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 which was also reported by ANOC President Gagik Tsarukyan’s Adviser Armen Grigoryan.

The latter assured that all the work that had been done for the previous important events would also be done for Tokyo 2020. Grigoryan told that a working group would be formed by ANOC President Gagik Tsarukyan’s instruction which would oversee all the preparatory works and our athletes and coaches would face no problems during the preparation for the 32nd Summer Olympic Games.

The third point was about the exclusion of the “Boxing Federation of the Republic of Armenia” public organization from the membership of the NOC of Armenia. Secretary General of the NOC of Armenia Hrachya Rostomyan made a 30-point report about the violations of the Boxing Federation of Armenia and put the issue of depriving the federation of the ANOC membership to the vote. Of 67 members of the Assembly 64 voted in favor, 2 abstained and one member didn’t take part.
The fourth point was about the acceptance of the “National Boxing Federation of Armenia” public organization to the temporary members of the NOC of Armenia. Speaker Secretary General of the NOC of Armenia Hrachya Rostomyan presented the NOC of Armenia Hovhannes Hovsepyan’s ,the president of the mentioned federation, application letter, presented the works and results of the National Boxing Federation of Armenia and put the issue to the vote. Of 67 participants 64 voted in favor and 3 abstained.

The fifth point of the agenda was about General Assembly procedural issues which was discussed and accepted unanimously at the beginning of the Assembly session.
