Armenia’s judo team member Janna Stankevich celebrated a victory at the Tokyo Grand Prix.
Armenian representative Stankevich gained advantage over Turkmenistan’s Gulbadam Babamuratova but lost to Japan’s Yuka Nishida. The judoka got 20 qualifying points of Olympics. She has a total of 476 points.
“The competition year is over for Armenian judokas. They won’t go to any international tournament till the end of the year. Two of the team members Hovhannes Davtyan and Janna Stankevich have been relieved from the obligation to participate in the Armenian Judo Championship”, said Armenia’s Judo Federation vice president Davit Khitaryan to an ANOC reporter.
Armenian judokas have finished their performances at international tournaments.
The Armenian Judo Championship will start on December 13 at the Republican Palace of the Sport and Culture of the Deaf, opening at 5:00 p.m.
