Minsk 2019: Valodya Frangulyan to take part in repechage bout

Freestyle wrestler Valodya Frangulyan (65 kg) has got a chance to fight for a bronze medal at the European Games.

At the 2nd European Games in Minsk Frangulyan began from the 1/8 finals where lost 0:6 to Azerbaijani Haji Aliev.

The Azerbaijani wrestler qualified for the finals letting Frangulyan to take part in the repechage bout.

Tomorrow Valodya will compete with Belarusian George Koliev.

In case of winning the Belarusian wrestler Frangulyan will face Ukraine’s Gor Hovhannisyan in the fight for bronze who was defeated by Haji Aliev in the semifinals.

Sargis Hovsepyan (97 kg) also performed on June 26 but lost the 1/8 final to Georgian Elizbar Odikadze, 2:3.

The Georgian wrestler didn’t reach the finals, so Hovsepyan won’t participate in the repechage fight.
