Norway Chess: Levon Aronyan shares 2-3rd places

Leading player of the Armenia chess team Levon Aronyan took part in Norway Chess tournament ended in Stavanger, Germany.

The Armenian grand master gained 10.5 points in nine rounds and shared the 2-3rd places with Yu Yangyi (China).

World current champion Magnus Carlsen (Norway) placed 1st with 13.5 points.

The tournament was also attended by Wesley So (USA), Fabiano Caruana (USA), Ding Liren (China), Viswanathan Anand (India), Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (France), Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (Azerbaijan) and Alexander Grischuk (Russia).

According to the rules of the tournament in case of not having a winner in a classical game the players had to play an Armageddon game.
