Bucharest 2019: Hrant Kalachyan lost the bout for bronze

At the European Wrestling Championship ending in Bucharest Hrant Kalachyan at 72 kg lost 3:4 to Croatia’s Dominik Etlinger.

At 72 kg Hrant Kalachyan begin from the 1/8 finals and lost to Russia’s Abuyazid Mantsigov by fall. The Russian wrestler qualified for the finals which gave a right to Kalachyan to continue the competition.

In the repechage bout European youth champion Kalachyan defeated Hungarian Robert Fritch gaining the right to fight for bronze. Lets us recall that earlier, today, Karen Aslanyan (67 kg) won a bronze medal celebrating victory in a decisive bout against Serb Mate Nemesh. It was the second medal of the Armenia Greco-Roman wrestling team at the European Championship. On the eve Arsen Julfalakyan at 77 kg became a bronze medalist.
