Freestyle wrestler Levan Berianidze (125kg) failed to win his opponent in the bout for a bronze medal.
Super heavyweight Levan Berianidze was competing against Belarusian Ibrahim Saidov. The bout ended 2:2. As the opponent's trick was technically higher the bout ended in his favor and Berianidze placed 5th.
Armenia's Olympic team member Levan Berianidze (125kg) had started the struggle from the 1/8 finals and competed against Chinese Zhiwei Deng. The bout had ended 2;2 and as Armenia's representative had been the last to earn a point, he had continued the competition. In the second bout Berianidze had been competing against Hungary's Daniel Liget whom Berianidze had defeated 3:1 and qualified for the semifinals.In the semifinals Berianidze's opponent had been Turk Taha Akgul. Berianidze had lost 8:1 to the reigning champion.
