The head coach of the Armenian boxing team, Karen Aghamalyan, opines that Vladimir Margaryan was ready to fight against the Olympic champion as equals.
''Margaryan was in a very good disposition, it wasn't important to him who was his opponent; an Olympic champion or another athlete. But the wound which he had received during the first bout didn't manage to recover. We started the bout as equals. The opening was very big, and it was impossible to continue the bout,'' Aghamalyan said.
Given doctors' decision Vladimir Margaryan due to the eyebrow opening was knocked out of the first round of the second bout of the Olympic Games.
