Armenia’s boxing team member Hovhannes Bachkov (64kg) won Qatar’s Tulasi Tarumalingam in the finals of the Qualifying Tournament for professional boxers and became the winner of the tournament. Bachkov knocked out the opponent in the third round.
In the quarter finals of the tournament the Armenian boxer had defeated Ireland’s Peter Raymond. In the semifinals Bachkov had won Ukraine’s representative and gained a Rio Olympics qualification.
Only top three boxers of the tournament held in Venezuela qualified for the Olympics.
