Armenia’s weightlifting team member, Junior Olympic champion Simon Martirosyan has been named the best athlete of the junior world Weightlifting Championships.
After the World Championship in Tbilisi the Armenian weightlifter was named the best athlete of the championship by the International Weightlifting Federation.
At the Junior World Weightlifting Championships held in Tbilisi, Simon Martirosyan (+105kg) lifted all three attempts in the snatch holding overhead 175kg, 182kg and 187kg and conquered a small gold medal. In the clean and jerk the Junior Olympic champion lifted 210kg, 220kg and 225kg and again captured a small medal. With a total of 412kg Martirosyan bccame the winner of the Junior World Championships.
